Military Reenlistment Codes - Determine a service member's future eligibility for enlistment or reenlistment after discharge or separation from the military. RE codes for all service branches are listed below.
You can find the RE code in box 27 of the DD-214. The re-entry code may vary by branch of military service.

Each service branch determines the criteria for reenlistment eligibility, so RE and separation codes vary by branch.
The History Of The Reenlistment Ceremony
The Department of the Interior uses different criteria than the Air Force, Army, and Navy departments to determine status. Some who are discharged with “non-incurable” conditions may still be eligible for VA benefits, such as the VA home loan program.
Here are the Army's return and enlistment codes, according to Army Regulation (AR) 601-210 and National Guard Regulation (NGR) 600-200.
Soldiers separated under codes RE-3 or RE-4 must request exemption from enlistment from a recruiter. Depending on the type of cancellation and ban, cancellation may not be possible.
The Army Board of Corrections of Military Records may correct incorrectly entered RE codes, but may not update the RE code for other reasons, per Army Regulation 601-210,

To correct a recode, soldiers must provide the board with evidence that the discharge characterization or reason for discharge is incorrect within 15 years of separation from the military.
Here are the recall and entry codes for the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard according to Bureau of Naval Personnel Instruction (BUPERSINST) 1900.8E.
To change your Navy enlistment code, contact the Office of Naval Personnel (PERS-254) or submit a request to change your RE code in writing to the Naval Records Corrections Board.

US Army Military Reenlistment Eligibility (RE) Code These codes are found on military discharge documents and determine whether you can re-enlist or re-enlist for military service at a later date. Generally, those who receive an Army RE code of 1 can re-enlist in the Army or other services without any problems. Individuals with a \"2\" Army RE code can usually re-enlist in the Army or other service with various restrictions or if the circumstances that gave rise to the code no longer exist. People with a \"3\" RE code can usually enlist in the military or other service, but will likely need a waiver to process. Individuals with an Army RE code of \"4\" are generally ineligible for military service or joining any other service. RE-1 - Persons who were fully qualified at their last separation. Fully Qualified Forenlistment.RE-1A - Individuals with more than 6 years of paid service. Fully qualified foreign stock exchange. Ineligible for readmission for 93 days, change date of separation. RE-1B - Individuals who have not been tested during the current period of service to confirm the primary measure.
